When I was offered the opportunity to join SSS-10 two years back, I had never thought that it would be a fairytale journey. Every day I have walked into my room and pinched myself to realise that it is for real. Same is the situation when I leave the room for the day.
The beginning of construction of the three-storied laboratory block is the first step in bringing the school's infrastructure at par with the best. BSP management's approval of the project in September 2011 was a much needed shot in the arm.
Working for what was at one time MP's numero uno school is the preserve of the fortunate few. And I count myself as one. It has been a period of building relationships. The young ones come to you with too many expectations. Their requirements are at times too trivial but they come with a lot of faith and belief that their problems will be taken care of. And that is a challenge. But even after not having solved a majority of their problems you get their unflinching love and affection. Such is the power of guruship.
Another major challenge is managing the most qualified resource that none of the departments other than Education has. How do you motivate them? Are there any solutions? The search is on for perfection.
On the whole it has been a satisfying journey. There is immense scope for creativity and you can mould the resources the way you want. Everyday you learn something new. Where else do you get this than a school.
SSS-10 has a vibrancy about it. You can almost feel the waves emanating from its walls and corridors. You come to realise that some of the greats have not only led the institution in the past but also moulded great minda who have brought laurels to the school.
Hence any attempt to run the institution down is sacrilegous to say the least. And that too by people who have been here. But then greatness only flourishes where there are aberrations. So thank you detractors. SSS-10 will keep coming out with flying colours year after year. An institution doesn't become great for nothing.
